About

Hello fellow Michiganders (and anyone else reading)!  My name is Joe, I am a Michigander, I believe in America, and I am supporting Mitt Romney to become the President of the United States in 2012.

During this 2012 election cycle I hope to share with as many Michiganders and other fellow Americans as possible many of my thoughts and reasons for why I believe Michiganders should support Governor Romney for President.  I will strive to focus on issues, policies, and topics related to Mitt Romney and his campaign for President which apply to Michigan and its future.

I will also strive to ensure the blog environment is respectful, statesmanlike, and as non-partisan as possible.  Inhibitions to educated discourse such as litmus tests, bigotry, discrimination, offensive language, fundamentalism, mindless or biased rhetoric, etc will not be welcome here.

As a Michigan native who has returned to the state after serving in the military, I was elated to return to four full seasons (including cider & maple syrup seasons!), thousands of freshwater lakes, inspiring automotive innovation, beautiful Great Lakes beaches, lightning bugs, Tigers games, and some of the most down-to-earth yet hard-working people the world has known.

However, I am also deeply concerned for Michigan’s future, especially its economy.  My wife struggled to find suitable employment, many of my friends are struggling through tougher circumstances, unemployment has been double-digit since I returned in 2008, and the population continues to lose out to other states.  Michigan, like the country, is in trouble, and Michigan’s future is heavily influenced by the policies of Washington DC.  While much is being done here in Michigan at local levels to fix our troubles, life for all of us in Michigan will be easier and problems resolved more rapidly if we have a President that leads Washington to implement policies which strengthen the economy.  Without a strong economy our security, our families, our innovation, our society and our American way of life will be compromised.

In a time like this, America would benefit greatly from a leader who has economic experience outside of politics, who has earned the respect of peers and entire industries for his work ethic and expertise, who has established a lifetime of selfless service, frequently refusing or going without pay to preserve and restore American greatness, and who has the right plans and visions for overcoming America’s present day challenges.

It just so happens that one candidate running for President possesses those qualities, and has also demonstrated his capacity to lead the country out of economic crisis and into prosperity by having fixed numerous ailing corporations, having restored honor & profitability to an Olympic games, and by having rescued another state from its financial crisis.  And it just so happens that this candidate is also a Michigan native.  That candidate is Mitt Romney, and he has my vote in 2012.

I look forward to continuing to share with you Mitt’s “Believe in America” message and why I feel he is our best bet for overcoming today’s challenges and leading our country into a prosperous future.  I invite Michiganders and other Americans from all political parties and persuasions to consider Mitt by staying tuned in here, and to join me in supporting Michigan’s native for President of the United States.

Your Compatriot,

Joe

  1. Hi Joe,

I just found your website and I like it. (I really like your latest post.)

I just added a link to your site at the top of my Michigan page, at:

    http://aboutmittromney.com/state/michigan.htm#Michigan

As our goal is to reach people, could I request you list my site as a resource site?

If you do and it results in several clicks (less than 20 right now), your website will be listed on every page of my site by a click-back tool I have installed. By our cross listing, that can get you more traffic and me more traffic.

    Thank you,
    John

PS – as you can see, I like that photo of Mitt in the Michigan crowd too. I’ve had that on the page since I set up the Michigan page earlier this year.

    Happy Blogging!

  2. John,

Thank you for visiting Michigan for Mitt and for the compliments. Great job on your site too! I’ve been there before. I would be happy to list your site as a resource. I’ve been meaning to create a resources links page but haven’t had a chance to get to it yet, but once I do I will definitely put your site on that page. And yes, great photo of the Michigan crowd! Good luck w/ everything and Go Mitt!
